José Luis Suárez Morales is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and Hispanic Studies at Texas Christian University. He holds a PhD from Indiana University and has previously taught at Hampton University. He specializes in Latin American literature, culture, and cinema, particularly in Mexico, the Southern Cone, and Central America, and their intersections with the theoretical humanities. He has published articles in Chasqui, Ciberletras, and Revista de Estudios Hispánicos. He is currently working on a monograph on contemporary Latin American culture, crisis, and the exhaustion of political languages.
