Analays Álvarez Hernández is an associate professor of Art History in the Department of Art History, Cinema, and Media Studies at the University of Montreal. Her research interests include public art, global art histories, and Latinx-Canadian art. She is the author of Climbing Aboard: Havana Apartment-Galleries and International Art Circuits (2023) and has co-edited issues for the journals RACAR and Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture. As an independent curator, Álvarez Hernández has organized several exhibitions, including The Recipe: Making Latin American Art in Canada (Sur Gallery, 2018; OBORO, 2020) and On Americanity and Other Experiences of Belonging (Onsite Gallery, 2023).
