Angel Carrasco

Angel Carrasco is a Zapotec and Honduran scholar in the third year of their PhD in the Cinema and Media Studies department at the University of Southern California. Their research focuses on Indigeneity in Latin American cinema and media. They are interested in the ways that Indigenous peoples, specifically Indigenous Oaxacans, practice their rights to autonomy and opacity in media. Furthermore, they analyze how Indigenous peoples transcend western concepts of existing through filmmaking.
