AVAnnotate Open Source Application for Audiovisual Digital Exhibits and Editions
Friday December 5, 2025 | 3:45PM-4:45PM
LBC 208
Workshop Abstract
This workshop will introduce AVAnnotate (https://av-annotate.org/), an open-source application, and a workflow for building digital exhibits and editions with annotated audiovisual artifacts.
Researchers, libraries, archives, museums (LAM) professionals, and the public who seek to increase access and discovery with audiovisual archives should attend! This workshop is well-suited for participants who promote standardized modes of accessibility and discovery with AV. AVAnnotate was built using minimal computing principles (Clement et. al 2022), is free-to-use, and leverages open-source resources such as GitHub and IIIF (International Interoperable Image Framework). Engage AV artifacts and create projects in a new way with AVAnnotate.
(Please bring your computer, if possible.)
