Farides Lugo Zuleta is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of California, Riverside. She earned her M.A. in Literature from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG, Brazil) as an OAS fellow and holds a B.A. in Literary Studies from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL, Bogotá). Her current research interests lie at the intersection of environmental justice, radical alterity, structural violence, and the afterlife of slavery in contemporary Latin American cultural production (Greater Caribbean and Brazil).
