
Maybel Mesa Morales is an Assistant Professor at Lycoming College, specializing in Latin American literature, cultural studies, Hispanic film, digital humanities, and second language acquisition. She is currently working on a manuscript exploring intermedial strategies in contemporary Cuban Cinema and leads the digital humanities project Emerging from the Shadows: Cuban Women Filmmakers in Contemporary Cuban Film. For over a decade, she has presented her work at national and international conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. She serves at the MLA’s Cuban and Cuban Diasporic Studies Committee, is a member of the Mujeres y Cine Association(MYC), and collaborates on various digital humanities and open educational projects.
